Executive Bio of David Goldwich

David Goldwich, the Persuasion Doctor, teaches people how to become more influential, compelling, and irresistibly persuasive as they share their message with the world. He has MBA and JD degrees and practiced law in the United States for more than ten years, arguing before judges and political, government, and community bodies.He knows how to persuade the toughest audiences. David speaks internationally and conducts workshops in persuasive business presentations, negotiation, storytelling for leaders and sales professionals, and other areas of influence and persuasion.

Recognizing that lawyers perpetuate rather than solve problems, David began lecturing and training in 1995. He has taught at the tertiary level in the USA and in Singapore. An engaging and award-winning speaker, David uses humor and stories gathered from his own experience as a lawyer, businessman, and father to help people reach breakthrough changes in their personal and professional lives. He is the author of four books and many articles in his field of expertise. 

David specializes in the area of persuasive communications, including:

Negotiation– David advocates the interest-based negotiation approach developed at Harvard to achieve win-win outcomes, though he can also take the gloves off and teach more hardball tactics and counter-tactics. He uses simulations, role play, skits, and interactive sessions to help participants learn and improve critical negotiating skills and behaviors. David is the author ofWin-Win Negotiations: Developing the Mindset, Skills and Behaviours of Win-Win Negotiators.

Persuasive Presentation Skills– David has delivered presentations to large and small audiences, appears frequently on radio, and hosted a television talk show. His philosophy on business presentations is simply this: “It isn’t a beauty contest, it’s about persuasion!” David has written widely on business and communications issues, and is the author of Kickass Business Presentations: How to Persuade Your Audience Every Time and Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?: Lessons in Effective Communication.

Storytelling in Business– Telling stories is more than a folksy way to relate to others. It is a powerful and persuasive vehicle that top leaders use to get their message across with maximum impact and minimum resistance. David teaches the many purposes stories serve, as well as how to craft powerful and persuasive stories and master high impact delivery techniques for telling stories that move people.   

Assertiveness– Studies have found that most people are not as assertive as they should be to succeed in their work. These people are unlikely to advance beyond lower to middle management unless they develop assertive behaviors and skills. David has helped many people get what they want in his popular Assertiveness workshops.    

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, USA, David has been living in Singapore and working throughout Asia since 1999. He enjoys art, music, stock investing, the beach, red wine, chocolate, and anything Italian.  

Some of the many companies David has personally trained in the region include American Express, BP, Caterpillar, Changi Airport Group, Chevron Phillips Chemicals, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, International Flavors & Fragrances, Levi Strauss & Co., NTUC, Petronas, Shell, Siemens, and many others. He has also trained for various government entities, including the Republic of Singapore Navy, LTA, IRAS, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Law.
